Indonesia, un país con muchas lenguas

La República de Indonesia es uno de los mayores países del planeta. Aproximadamente 240 millones de personas viven en el país insular. Mucha de su población pertenece a diferentes grupos étnicos. Se cree que en Indonesia hay casi 500 grupos étnicos. Tales grupos y pueblos tienen diferentes tradiciones culturales. ¡Y por supuesto hablan muchos idiomas distintos! En Indonesia se hablan alrededor de 250 lenguas. Además hay otros muchos dialectos. Las lenguas de Indonesia son clasificadas según el grupo étnico. Así se habla, por ejemplo, del idioma javanés o de la lengua balinesa. Esta enorme cantidad de idiomas acarrea naturalmente problemas. Dificultan tanto una economía como una administración eficientes. En respuesta a esa situación, se estableció un idioma nacional. Desde su independencia en 1945, la lengua oficial del Estado es el bahasa Indonesia . Se enseña en las escuelas junto con el resto de lenguas maternas. Si bien no todos los habitantes de Indonesia lo hablan. Solo el 70% de los indonesios son capaces de hablar el bahasa Indonesia. Este indonesio oficial es ‘apenas’ la lengua natal de 20 millones de personas. De manera que los numerosos idiomas regionales todavía tienen una gran importancia. Para los aficionados a las lenguas es el de Indonesia un caso particularmente interesante. Porque aprender indonesio tiene muchas ventajas. La lengua se considera relativamente sencilla. Las reglas gramaticales se aprenden bastante rápido. La pronunciación se sigue con naturalidad de la escritura. Tampoco la ortografía es complicada. Muchas palabras indonesias proceden de otras lenguas. Y además: el indonesio será muy pronto uno de los idiomas más importantes. Son suficientes razones para empezar a aprenderlo, ¿verdad?
