La traduzione automatica

Chi ha bisogno di farsi tradurre dei testi, spesso è costretto a pagare tanto. I traduttori e gli interpreti professionisti sono cari. Imparare le lingue diventa sempre più necessario. Gli informatici e la linguistica computazionale vogliono trovare una soluzione a questa problematica. Pertanto, essi lavorano da tempo sullo sviluppo di strumenti per la traduzione assistita. Sono stati creati diversi programmi informatici, ma la qualità della traduzione automatica non è ancora elevata. La colpa non è dei programmatori! La lingua è una costruzione assai complicata, mentre il computer si basa su semplici principi automatici e non sempre è in grado di elaborare correttamente le informazioni linguistiche. Un programma di traduzione dovrebbe prima imparare la lingua in tutte le sue sfumature. Gli esperti dovrebbero inserire migliaia di parole e di regole nel programma. Ma tutto questo è impossibile. Sarebbe meglio lasciare al computer i conti matematici, visto che è in grado di eseguirli correttamente. Un computer riesce a calcolare la frequenza delle parole, le combinazioni e sa riconoscere, per esempio, le parole che compaiono una accanto all’altra. Se si inseriscono testi scritti in diverse lingue, il computer impara a riconoscere le caratteristiche delle lingue. Questi metodi statistici potranno migliorare la traduzione automatica, ma non riusciranno a sostituire l’uomo. Nessuna macchina è in grado di imitare perfettamente l’abilità dell’uomo nel produrre un codice linguistico. I traduttori e gli interpreti avranno ancora tanto lavoro! Certo, in futuro si userà il computer per tradurre i testi più semplici. Un canto, un componimento poetico e la letteratura avranno sempre bisogno della componente umana, dal momento che richiedono una sensibilità per la lingua assai sviluppata. Per fortuna …
