Kör insanlar dili daha verimli işlerler

Göremeyen insanlar daha iyi duyarlar. Böylece güncel hayatta hareket ederler. Körler ayrıca dili de daha verimli işlerler! Bu sonuca birçok bilimsel araştırmalar varmıştır. Araştırmacılar, deneklere hızını aşırı derecede yükselttikleri metinler dinlettiler. Yine de kör olan denekler metinleri anlayabildiler. Görebilen test edilen kişiler ise cümleleri neredeyse hiç anlayamadılar, çünkü onlar için konuşulanlar çok hızlı geldi. Başka bir deney ise buna benzer bir sonuç elde etmiştir. Görebilen ve kör insanlara farklı cümleler dinletildi. Cümlelerin bazı bölümleri ile oynandı. Mesela son kelimenin yerine saçma sapan bir kelime yerleştirildi. Denekler bu cümleleri değerlendirerek, cümlelerin mantıklı ya da mantıksız olduklarına karar vermek zorundalardı. Bu verilen çalışma yapılırken beyinleri kontrol ediliyordu. Araştırmacılar belirli beyin frekanslarını ölçerek, beyine verilen çalışmayı ne kadar hızlı yaptıklarını görürler. Kör deneklerde belirli bir sinyal kendini çok çabuk göstermiştir. Bu sinyal, bir cümlenin analiz edildiğini gösterir. Görebilen deneklerde ise sinyal baya geç kendini belli etmiştir. Körlerin neden dili daha verimli işledikleri henüz daha bilinmemektedir. Bilimcilerin ama bu konu ile ilgili bir teorileri var. Tespitlerine göre, beyinleri belirli bir bölgeyi daha yoğun kullanmaktadırlar. Bu bölge de, görebilen insanların görsel dürtülerini işledikleri yerdir. Kör insanlarda bu bölge görmek için kullanılmamaktadır. Bu durumda yani daha başka çalışmalar için ,,boştur‘‘. Böylece körlerin, dilleri işlemeleri için daha fazla kapasiteleri vardır…
